26 Hour photography course taught by Anthony Lorenc, consisting of two sessions, at:
Session I - Introduction to Digital Photography
This course will introduce you to all the possibilities that digital photography has to offer. In just 10 hours you will master your digital SLR camera. We will cover different types of cameras, lenses, flashes, filters and other accessories. Also, basic camera operation/care, commonly used shooting functions, using the mode dial and most importantly, you will learn how to use the manual method and why it is important to know it if you want to start “making” pictures instead just “taking” them! Bring your camera with you, but if you don’t have one – don’t go buying one till you come to the first class!
Session II - Digital Photography II
This is a 16 hour course and the instructor assumes that you are familiar with your camera and know how to take pictures in a manual setting. After a quick review of basics such as a histogram, white balance, RAW vs JPEG, we will go immediately into posing. Subsequent classes will cover lighting, special events photography and digital darkroom with an introduction to digital darkroom and Adobe Photoshop. Also, we will have a 3.5 hour field trip (Sunday morning), date will be given on the first day of classes. The field trip will focus on hints for great outdoor photography.
